1. Overview

Please read these instructions carefully. All travelers are allowed one piece of checked luggage, one non-expandable carry-on (if needed), and one personal item (backpack or purse). Though you'll want to be well-prepared, traveling light is strongly encouraged.

2. Airline Baggage Policies

Check your airline’s website for up-to-date baggage regulations. Most international flights allow checked bags up to 62 linear inches (L + W + H) and 50 lbs. Exceeding these limits could result in a $60+ charge each way. Be mindful of weight and size to avoid fees.

3. Player Equipment Bag

For players, the checked bag will typically be their football equipment bag. These bags can often hold personal items in addition to gear. Many players manage with just their equipment bag and a backpack. A carry-on roller is optional, but must not be oversized or expandable.

4. Carry-On Guidelines

If needed, your carry-on must be under 22 lbs and no more than 21.5"H x 15.5"W x 9.5"D. Avoid large or expandable rollers. You may also bring a personal item such as a small backpack, but it should not exceed 10" x 13" x 8".

5. Liquid Restrictions

European Union rules on carrying liquids apply. Items must be in a sealable, transparent plastic bag. Refer to your airline's website for more information on what is permitted in your carry-on.

6. Weather Tips

Check the weather forecast for your destination, including potential high and low temperatures. Elevation can affect temperature. Bring a light, water-repellent windbreaker in case of rain or wind.

7. Clothing Guidelines

Dress comfortably but presentably—you’re representing your team and country. Jeans and T-shirts are fine, but avoid ripped clothing or inappropriate language/images. Plan to re-wear certain items and pack a small bottle of laundry soap to hand wash clothing mid-tour. Outerwear should fully cover undergarments.

8. Player Packing Tips

Players on an AFW ELITE tour should expect to receive about 7–8 lbs. of apparel from AFW before or upon arrival. Make room for this in your packing plans.

9. Gift Items for Players

Consider bringing a small gift for foreign players—U.S. football gear (shirts, shorts, stickers) is a great option. Used items in good condition are fine. You can also bring extra items to trade.

10. Required Football Equipment

You are responsible for bringing all the gear you need to play. Replacement items may not be available abroad. Only standard facemasks are allowed—tight-grid styles that could trap fingers are prohibited.

11. Final Packing Request

Due to the volume of football equipment and bags, space is limited on the motor coach. Players and families are strongly encouraged to pack as compactly and efficiently as possible to ease group travel.

12. Parent Packing Request

For parents traveling together or with a player, one checked bag and one or two rollers is preferred. Avoid bringing two checked bags and two rollers if possible. Thank you for helping streamline the travel experience for everyone.
