The Macalester College Scots played exceptionally well and on May 25th defeated the Bergamo Lions 52-14 in the charming Italian town of Bergamo just east of Milan. Both teams produced touchdown drives early on, but late in the first quarter the visiting Scots took the lead for good and after a key 4th down stop in their territory early in the 2nd quarter they produced a 3rd score and added another key hurry-up drive before half to firmly seize control at 28-7.

Scots and Lions Post-Game

After Macalester scored to open the second half the Lions showed some determination as their dynamic quarterback Andrea Fimiani, proving himself to be elusive and skilled, added a second score in the 3rd quarter on a long run putting the score at 35-14. However, the visiting college team from the USA seemed to wear down the Lions with efficient and determined offensive production and the Macalester Scots pulled away to win by the convincing final score.

After the game members of both teams exchanged gifts then enjoyed a post-game meal and social as players, coaches and fans exchanged stories and laughter.

Players Tour at the famed Spanish Steps

During the week 70+ members of the Macalester College football family visited Rome, Vatican City, Siena, Florence, Cinque Terra, Milan, and Lake Como on an ambitious journey to learn, grow and enjoy.
