AFW ELITE Players Move on to College Football

eDSC_5225Various players from the AFW ELITE’s high school select team that traveled together to France for a week of touring with intermixed practices in Paris and Normandy have used that opportunity to further develop their skill and gain exposure to move on to play at the collegiate level. The week of touring culminated with the first game of American football played on European soil by a US high school team against a bona fide national team. France was Europe’s leading U19 national program after finishing 6th at the World Championships held in Austin, Texas in the summer of 2012. The week culminated with a 19-0 US victory in a game played in a suburb of Paris, France.

At least 15 players will continue to grow through the opportunities and challenges that college football offers. The list of ‘graduating’ players from USA-AFW ELITE to college ball is:

• Jackson Baker from Crestwood, Kentucky to the University of Tulsa
• Lafonza Alston from Chicago, Illinois to Concordia University-Chicago
• Zane Chappelear from Grove City, Ohio to Lindsey Wilson College
• Kory Creech from Richmond, Indiana to Denison University
• Mason Darrow from Barrington Hills, Illinois to Princeton University
• Tim Gierke from Greencastle, Indiana to Wabash College
• Dalton Julian from Broken Bow, Oklahoma to Central Missouri University
• Connor Kirkpatrick from Crystal Lake, Illinois to Lake Forest College
• Joe Kutil from Waterford, Michigan to Hillsdale College
• David Maule from Watertown, Wisconsin to St. Cloud State University
• Gentry Oden III from Novi, Michigan to Allan Hancock College
• Doug Phillips from Armada, Michigan to Hillsdale College
• Kishan Patel from Elk Grove, Illinois to the University of San Diego
• Lukas Sinnis from Carmel, Indiana to Wabash College

• Hayden Whitby from Trenton, Tennessee to Bethel University (TN)
• Jerry Williams III from Barberton, Ohio to Ohio University
• Brock Workman from Barrington, Illinois to Washington University (MO)
