College Tours ’19

Following nine successful college tours to Europe since 2016, and the expansion to two high school select tours to compete against European national teams each spring, American Football Worldwide will be leading two college football tours to Europe in May of 2019.

On May 21, 2019 the Augustana Vikings will be embarking on their 7th international competition tour certainly solidifying them as a leader in providing extraordinary international education experiences for their student-athletes.  Augie Football will visit the Emerald Island staying in Galway, Belfast and the capital city of Dublin.  The Vikings will enjoy Galway Bay, visit the Cliffs of Moher, tour Trim Castle and take in many sites in Dublin including St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the Gaelic Athletic Association Hall of Fame and Guinness Storehouse amongst other highlights.

In addition, AFW has been requested to and is offering an Augustana Football Alumni “Overlap Tour” that will have the alumni and the team at the same sites at the Cliffs of Moher, for a group dinner in Galway and of course on International Game Day when the Vikings take on the proud Belfast Trojans American football club.  The alumni tour departs on Saturday, May 18th and returns following the game on Sunday, May 26th.  The Augustana student-athlete and family tour departs on May 21st and returns on May 29th.

The Carthage Red Men will be taking their second overseas foreign competition tour this time to Catalonia, Spain.  Their tour departs on May 27th when they will begin flying into and spending a day in the marvelous city of Barcelona on the 28th.  Late in the day the team and tour group will transport a couple hours north along the coast to the beautiful area of Costa Brava where they will visit the fascinating cities of Figueres and Girona all intermixed with enjoy some beach time on the Mediterranean as well.  The second half of the tour has the team back in Barcelona for touring of medieval Barri Gatic, revitalized Port Olimpic, imposing Montjuic, Montserrat and the phenomenal Sagrada Familia Basilica.  The Red Men will play one of the top American football club teams in Spain.
